Libby Shotola, 95, formerly of Riverside and LaGrange Park, died at her home surrounded by family members on Nov. 30, 2014.
Ms. Shotola graduated from J. Sterling Morton High School and Junior College in Cicero. Her husband, Charles, owned C.C. Shotola Meats and founded the Chateau Dumpling Company.
She served as a Cub Scout den mother and Girl Scout leader and was also a life member of the Czechoslovak Society of America. In addition, Ms. Shotola was an organ donor to the Rush Memory and Aging Project.
She was the wife of the late Charles Cyril Shotola; the mother of the late Charles C. Shotola Jr., Donald L. (Anita) Shotola and Denise M. (Michael) Flickinger; the grandmother of Charles C. (Michell) Shotola IV, Edward L. Shotola, Matthew (Tina Marie), Flickinger, Dean (Ashliegh) Flickinger, Jon Shotola and Megan (Daniel) Wojtulewicz; and the great-grandmother of eight.
A celebration of life service for Ms. Shotola will be held on Monday, Jan. 12, 2015 at 10:30 a.m. at Ascension Lutheran Church, 400 Nuttall Road in Riverside.
