Like many residents of Brookfield, I received a copy of the Brookfield Monitor left on my doorstep, and once again it is filled with the same old PEP Party propaganda. They tell you that they have done a great job of running the village and state all of their so-called accomplishments.

Well, I am telling you that all is not fine and the people of Brookfield are fed up with their bull. I know this firsthand, because I was out getting signatures from the voters on the Citizens Action Party Petitions and I heard the complaints from residents and the PEP Party excuses for them. The people of Brookfield want a change and new fresh faces and new ideas on the village board and the Citizens Action Party will do that.

Once again they mention Bill Russ in their political piece as an issue. Let’s focus on the real issues that affect the residents and not Bill Russ. He is not running for office. He has stated many times in public he will help anyone run for office against the PEP Party and he has. Again, this election should be about helping the people of Brookfield.

There are two political parties running against PEP with all new people — unlike PEP running the same old faces. All they do is recycle the same old people, election after election.

The Monitor reeks of political propaganda as it has for the last 10 years. They figure they have made Bill Russ the scapegoat the last five elections, so why not do it again and steal another election? Abraham Lincoln once said, “You can fool all the people some of the time, and some of the people all the time, but you cannot fool all the people all the time.”

The bottom line is that all the candidates should be focusing on the real issues facing Brookfield and stop all the negative propaganda and personal attacks on people.
