Lyons Township High School’s radio station, WLTL 88.1, raised a grand total of $31,564 at its weekend Rock-a-thon. After months of planning and preparation the broadcast kicked off at 5 a.m. on Feb. 13 and concluded at 9:06 p.m. on Feb. 16, for a total of 88.1 continuous hours. LTTV also broadcasted and streamed video live over the Internet and cable TV.
Pledges will help defray the cost of replacing the more than 25-year-old antenna and put the finishing touches on the studio upgrades at both North Campus and South Campus.
In addition to broadcasting the Rock-a-thon at 88.1 FM, the station’s social media presence was in full swing with interactive features, including live Twitter feeds.
