Early voting for the April 7 Consolidated Election in Cook County began Monday and will continue through April 4.

Any registered voter who would like to cast a ballot to elect village trustees, school board members and library board members prior to the April 7 election can do so at any one of the 42 early voting sites that have been established by the Cook County Clerk’s Office throughout the suburbs or at the clerk’s office at 69 W. Washington Blvd. in downtown Chicago.

All early voting sites are open Monday through Saturday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., expect for the five suburban courthouse sites, which are open Monday through Friday from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. Seven sites, including two in Cicero and the clerk’s downtown office, will be open on Sunday, March 29 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Early voting is done on touch screen machines. Voters do not need to provide a reason for why they wish to vote early and only have to fill out an application at the site to vote early.

Voters must present a government-issued ID (it does not need to be a photo ID) in order to cast an early ballot.
