The Brookfield Beautification Commission will dedicate a sculpture, in memory of former Public Works Director Al Kitzer, at the taxi stand in the 8800 block of Brookfield Avenue, just across the tracks from the Prairie Avenue train station, on Saturday, May 2 at 2 p.m.
The public is invited to attend the dedication, which caps a year-long campaign to raise money for the creation of the work by local artist Paul Russell. The sculpture — dragonflies buzzing over prairie grasses — is a take on the Brookfield Beautification Commission’s logo and is one of the first public art projects completed by the commission.
