Allen V. Buresh, 66

Allen Victor Buresh, 66, of LaGrange Park and Brookfield, died June 5, 2015.

Mr. Buresh played 16-inch softball for about 25 years and was the starting center on the first Triton College basketball team during the 1967-68 season. He was a die-hard Chicago White Sox fan and, according to family members, will be forever remembered for his sense of humor and the love he had for his family.

He wanted his friends to know that, “They were the best group of friends a guy could ask for.” He worked behind the bar at Buresh’s Lobster House, the former longtime Brookfield restaurant that once stood at Prairie Avenue and 31st Street.

Mr. Buresh is survived by his beloved wife of 41 years, Evelyn E. Buresh (nee Nelli); his children, Susan (Donald) Hohn, Steven (Kelli) Buresh and Patricia (Michael) Hiemer; and seven grandchildren.

Services have been held. Entombment was at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside.

Hitzeman Funeral Home, Brookfield, handled arrangements.
