Experience bringing generations together. The WTTW11 Grandparent Connection program is designed to enrich the lives of senior citizens and youth by providing a direct connection for both. The series of programs takes place at senior living communities and activity centers throughout Chicagoland at which youth from a nearby school, education center, or day camp attend. The seniors and children share stories, enjoy interactive movement activities and play games together. Studies have shown that a “grandparent connection” can improve the lives of seniors exponentially, and the involvement of a grandparent has been shown to lead to better-adjusted, mentally healthier teens. The Grandparent Connection provides an important, on-going link between these two generations.

FREE parking is available in the University’s parking structure. We are hosting children from Concordia’s Early Childhood Center. We are looking for aging/older adults to serve in the “grandparent” role. We invite you to join us and experience the magic and joy of making a Grandparent Connection!

Please RSVP to Lydia Manning at Lydia.Manning@cuchicago.edu 708-209-3218 no later than July 27th. Space is limited!
