Property owners in Riverside Township may file assessed valuation appeals with the Cook County Board of Review thru Tuesday, Sept. 1. The Riverside Township Assessor’s Office is available to help taxpayers determine the best reason for filing an appeal, find comparable properties and complete the necessary forms. The Board of Review also offers taxpayers the option of filing their appeal online at www.cookcountyboardofreview.com.

To further assist taxpayers, the Cook County Board of Review Commissioner Dan Patlak and Riverside Township Assessor Fran Sitkiewicz are co-sponsoring a property tax appeal seminar to educate taxpayers on how to file a successful tax appeal.

Attendees should bring a copy of their most recent property tax bill. The seminar will be held on Monday, Aug. 24 at 6:30 p.m. at the Riverside Township Hall, 27 Riverside Road in Riverside.

To obtain more information, comparable properties or applications for appeal please contact Fran Sitkiewicz, Riverside Township Assessor at 708-447-7700 or email 27rside@sbcglobal.net.

Appointments are encouraged but not necessary.
