Margaret A. “Marge” Smith (nee Brown), 61, of Brookfield, died on Aug. 13, 2015.
Born on August 16, 1953, she was a dedicated volunteer at St. Barbara Parish in Brookfield where she was a leader for the Girl Scouts of America and received the St. Anne Medal in 2011.
She also served as a volunteer with the Boy Scouts of America, the St. Barbara CCD program, Council of Catholic Women and Veterans Affairs and served as Market Day coordinator. In 2015, St. Barbara Parish chose her as its Woman of the Year.
Ms. Smith is survived by her husband of 40 years, Joseph L. Smith; her children, Matthew (Leah) Smith, Andrew (Rebecca) Smith and Elizabeth Smith; her grandchildren, Collin, Chloe, Autumn, Jacob, Jack and Isabelle; her siblings, Elizabeth Brown, Thomas Brown and Michael (Margaret) Brown; her stepmother, Genevieve Brown (nee Koob); her sisters-in-law, Patricia Pike and Mary Beth Stuckey; and her many nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert Brown and Elizabeth Brown (nee Burke); her brother, Robert (Mary) Brown; her mother-in-law, Gertrude Smith (nee Cornell); and her brother-in-law, Harold Pike.
A funeral Mass was celebrated Aug. 17 at St. Barbara Parish. Interment was private.
