William Francis Confray IV, 93, died on Aug. 10, 2015 in his Riverside home. 

Born in Chicago on March 9, 1922, he graduated from Northwestern University and was awarded an MBA from the University of Chicago. He trained business managers for Western Electric/AT&T, and both his education and career were highly successful. 

He served in WW II with the U.S. Army. He was an avid reader, had a passion for gardening, loved his dogs, and was an animal advocate who will be missed by many. 

Mr. Confray is survived by his children, Martha (William Drane) Confray, Mary (Howard) Polk and William Confray; his grandchildren, Mark David, Mathew (Amphone) and Michael (Lisa) Bollinger; his great-grandchildren, Sulavan, Thongvan (Ozlem), Michael Robert, Mason Patrick and Angelina Bollinger; and his brother, Jason Confray. 

He was preceded in death by his wife, Martha Johnson (nee Williams); his daughter, Nancy Confray; and his sister, Helen Pollacek. 

Memorial visitation is on Aug. 29 from 10 a.m. until time of an 11 a.m. funeral Mass at Our Lady of Victory Church in Chicago.
