Taking a walking tour of historic Riverside courtesy of the Frederick Law Olmsted Society on Sunday, Aug. 30.
The tour departs from the east side of the downtown train depot at 90 Bloomingbank Road at 2 p.m. and will last about two hours.
Sunday’s tour will cover the village south of the railroad tracks, including Swan Pond Park, Scottswood Common, Wright’s Coonley Estate and service buildings and architecture by William LeBaron Jenney, William Drummond, Calvert Vaux and other noted architects.
Tickets are $15 ($10 for seniors 62+ and Olmsted Society members). Group tours can be arranged by calling 708-442-7675 or by emailing tours@olmstedsociety.org. A deposit of $75 is required for special group tours. Cash is accepted on the day of the tour.
