A pair of churches serving the people of Brookfield will be celebrating important milestones this weekend, and the public is invited to join in.
On Saturday, Sept. 12, St. Louise de Marillac Parish in LaGrange Park will host a 60th anniversary celebration with a Mass 5 p.m., followed by cocktails, music and a dinner in the parish hall.
All are invited to attend, particularly former parishioners, residents and friends of St. Louise. Tickets are $25 and are available at the parish rectory, 1144 Harrison Ave. For more information, call 708-352-7388.
And on Sept. 12 and 13, St. Nikola Serbian Orthodox Church in Brookfield, at 4301 Prairie Ave., will celebrate its 50th anniversary. Entrance to Serbfest, which takes place from 3 to 8 p.m. each day, is free and open to the public. Food and drinks can be purchased at the event.
