Richard W. Barney, 87, of Brookfield, died on Sept. 12, 2015.
He was born on March 23, 1928, served in the U.S. Air Force in the Korean War, and was a minerals engineer.
Mr. Barney is survived by his children, James R. Barney, Joan D. (Michael) Donovan, Jeffrey W. Barney and Joel E. (Judy) Barney; his grandchildren, Courtney Barney, Ryan Bardy, Timothy Barney, Hailey Donovan, Brendan Barney, Kylie Barney and Darian Barney; and his sister, Dorothy (Ray) Everitt.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Carol Lee Barney (nee Madden), and his son, John R. Barney.
Visitation is on Thursday, Sept. 17 from noon until time of a funeral service at 1 p.m. at Hitzeman Funeral Home, 9445 31st St. in Brookfield. Interment will be at Woodlawn Cemetery in Forest Park.
