John F. Kopjo, 84, of Brookfield, died on Sept. 21, 2015 at HCR-Manor Care of Westmont.
Mr. Kopjo served in the U.S. Marines during the Korean War. He worked for many years as a union glazier, retiring in 1992 from the Chicago Housing Authority. He was a member of the Robert E. Coulter Jr. American Legion Post #1941, Glaziers Union Local 27, and served as an usher at St. Barbara Church.
An avid Chicago Blackhawks’ fan and active in Brookfield Youth Baseball, Mr. Kopjo enjoyed playing games of chance, traveling and gardening.
Mr. Kopjo is survived by his wife, Barbara J. Kopjo (nee Granger); his children, Denise, Jeffrey and James (Dawn); six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his son, John (Jean) Kopjo.
A funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Barbara Church in Brookfield on Sept. 28.
