Clarence Gauthier

Clarence J. “Larry” Gauthier, 84, of Brookfield and formerly of Plainville, Massachusetts, died on Oct. 27, 2015.  

Born on Feb. 17, 1931 in Fall River, Massachusetts, Mr. Gauthier was U.S. Navy veteran during the Korean War and had a 30-year career as an engineer for Honeywell, working on the Voyager space probe, the first man-made object to leave the solar system. He enjoyed a second career woodworking and restoring antique furniture.  

Mr. Gauthier is survived by his wife, Marcelline “Marcie” Gauthier (nee Goyette); his daughter, Robin (Kevin) O’Malley; his siblings, Ann LePage, David (Judith) Gauthier, Katherine (David) Curry, James (Doris Loots) Gauthier and Lawrence (Gail) Gauthier; and his many nieces and nephews.  

He was preceded in death by his brother, Robert (Del) Gauthier.  

A Funeral Mass was celebrated Oct. 31 at St. Barbara Church in Brookfield followed by private interment.
