Flood Brothers, the village of Riverside’s waste hauling provider, is encouraging residents to compost their pumpkins. The company has placed a dumpster in the parking lot of Riverside Foods, 48 E. Burlington St., which will remain in place through Nov. 6.
However, Flood Brothers is reminding residents to only throw pumpkins into the dumpster and to remove any candles, yarn, stickers, adhesive “eyes” or “ears” before doing so. Only the pumpkins themselves can be composted.
