The Brookfield police have found the vehicle they believe was used by those suspected of perpetrating the shooting murder of 33-year-old Brookfield man Michael Smith outside his home on Jan. 27.

Police declined to disclose where they found the vehicle. No suspects are in custody at this time.

A Brookfield police new release noted that investigators are pursuing active leads as a result of locating the vehicle.

Earlier this week, police reported that they were in search of a newer-model, blue four-door hatchback with a partial license plate number of Z21. Witnesses saw that vehicle leaving the scene, according to police.
