Phyllis D. Lyons, 77, of Brookfield, died on Feb. 22, 2016 at her home. 

After 20 years, she retired in 2000 from her secretarial position at Kaiser Controls. Ms. Lyons was a lifetime member of the Council of Catholic Women of St. Barbara Parish, had served as its president and was named 2013’s Catholic Woman of the Year. 

Ms. Lyons was also active in the Congress Park School PTA and was an avid assembler of family scrapbooks. She also enjoyed traveling, bowling and playing games of chance. 

She is survived by her sons, William D. (Marcy) and Steven (Tami) Lyons; daughters, Mary (Barry) Orscheln, Karen (David) Lewis and Cindy Phillips; her son-in-law, Jeff Phillips; her grandchildren, Patrick, Rachel, Riley, Jacob, Danielle, Rena, Brandon, Corryn, Stacey and Abigail; and her great-grandchildren, Xander, Cassie, Payton, Aliyah, Amelia, Joshua and Benjamin. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, William Lyons, and by her granddaughter, Emily. 

A funeral Mass was celebrated at St. Barbara Church on Feb. 27, followed by interment at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood.
