I have personally lived in Brookfield for 31 years. In that time, the street I have lived on has never been done. The closest street, which is Cleveland Avenue, has never been done. I was hoping for voter anger to prevent this referendum from passing.

The thought of giving this kind of money to any government body seems ridiculous to me. They never have and never will spend the taxpayers’ money wisely. I thought the prevailing message to government was to reduce spending so average people would have some money to spend.

Just looking at my tax bill with all of the pension liabilities, you would think make people say no to this. I do not trust the village of Brookfield to spend any money wisely.
