Robert F. Meyer, 86, of North Riverside, died on April 6, 2016.
Born on Jan. 2, 1930, Mr. Meyer served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and worked as a heavy truck mechanic.
Mr. Meyer was the husband of Joyce E. Meyer (nee Kivalina); the father of Robert Scott Meyer, Karen J. Lieder and Leslie G. (Paul) Schaber; the grandfather of Paul Schaber, Joseph (Elizabeth Bird) Schaber, Michael Schaber and Sarah Elizabeth Schaber; the great-grandfather of Joseph James Schaber; the brother of the late Evelynne Schaefer and William (Helen) Meyer; and the uncle of many nieces and nephews.
A funeral service was held April 9 at St. Michael’s Lutheran Church in LaGrange Park, followed by interment at Chapel Hill Garden West Cemetery in Oakbrook Terrace.
