Senior middle hitter Maclean Nolan led the Riverside-Brookfield High School boys volleyball team with 10 kills, a 600 hitting percentage, two aces and a block in a 25-14, 25-21 win over Hinsdale South. Peter Ferguson had 16 assists and Jason Bageanis contributed five blocks and two kills.
The Bulldogs also defeated Lemont 25-11, 25-10 as Bajo Zaper (6 kills) and Gustavo Lopez (5 kills) paced the offense. Mike Torres and Bageanis added three kills apiece.
RBHS (15-3) hosts Oak Park and River Forest on Thursday, April 28 at 5:30 p.m. in their annual nonconference match.

After enduring a 7-0 loss against Wheaton Academy on April 19, the Bulldogs bounced back nicely with a 3-2 win over Immaculate Conception and 2-1 victory against West Leyden. Sophomore forward Allie Kucera scored two goals in each game to spark the offense. Esther Annoreno (goal), Mariah Dorsey (two assists) and Gabby Tarrant (assist) and also led RBHS.
The Bulldogs host Glenbard South on Thursday, April 28 at 6:15 p.m.
Fenwick girls soccer
Fenwick cruised past visiting Solorio 4-0 on Saturday as Lauren Stibich, Anna Waring, Isabel Brennan and Patty Napleton each scored a goal. Colette Jaslowski, Caitlin Josephs, Stibich and Napleton added an assist apiece, while senior goalkeeper Jane Farrell recorded the shutout. Fenwick (11-4) defeated St. Ignatius 1-0 and Providence 3-1 in other matches last week.
The Roadrunners (14-3) earned a split against visiting St. Patrick on Senior Day Saturday. After losing the opener 6-4, Nazareth responded with a 7-3 victory in Game 2. John Zalewski was the winning pitcher and Kyle Kane and Anthony Viviano provided timely hitting.
In other games last week, Nazareth took two from Joliet Catholic, 9-4 and 3-1, and topped Maine South 6-5.
Powered by strong pitching performances from Grace Tucek, Cassandra Lee and Alyssa Stramaglia, the Friars (11-8, 3-6 GCAC Red) swept a doubleheader against Loyola Saturday at Priory Park in River Forest.
“Our pitching is very solid,” Fenwick senior Bri Keys said. “We have great chemistry and everybody supports each other on the team.”
In the opener, Tucek threw a complete-game two-hitter and Kayley Sherwood drove in both runs as Fenwick edged the Ramblers 2-1.
Lee threw four innings of two-hit ball and allowed one run to earn the Game 2 victory. Stramaglia gave up one unearned run and two hits in three innings of relief. Giselle Diaz (2-for-3, RBI, 3 runs scored), Bri McCormick (2-for-3) and Rachel Martinez (solo home run) led the offense.

Claudia Lundgren scored three goals as the Lions topped Neuqua Valley 8-6 in a nonconference match.
Fenwick boys tennis
Led by Danny Reardon, Nico Halter, Carlos Gutierrez and Billy Bruce, the Friars split four dual team matches at the Downers Grove South Invite.
Fenwick cruised past St. Francis 7-0 in conference play last week, The Friars are 3-0 in the Chicago Catholic League.

Fenwick senior Grace Cronin set another 300-meter hurdles record Saturday at the Lake Park Koszola Classic. The Notre Dame-bound Cronin ran a time of 43.79, breaking the previous meet record of 45.08 set by Erin McCoy. Cronin also won the high hurdles with a time of 15.16.
