The Brookfield Recreation Department will host the first of its two planned Outdoor Movie Nights on Friday, June 17 at Ehlert Park, Elm and Congress Park avenues.

This Friday’s movie will be the Chicago coming-of-age comedy film Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, which celebrates its 30the birthday in 2016. The film begins at dusk in the area near the picnic pavilion.

Starring Matthew Broderick, Ferris follows the exploits of a high school senior who skips school, convincing his girlfriend and best friend to come along for the ride, which includes stops at such Chicago locations as Wrigley Field, the Art Institute and the Von Steuben Day parade.

The film is 103 minutes long and is rated PG-13.

Zoo City Treats will be selling refreshments at the movie night. Attendees are invited to bring their own blankets and lawn chairs. Admission is free.
