Harry A. Fandre, Jr., 90, of Westmont and formerly of Brookfield, died on July 8, 2016.
Born on April 6, 1926, Mr. Fandre served in the U.S. Army during World War II and later owned Harry A. Fandre Motor Service. He was a member of the Brookfield VFW Post #6869, Riverside Lodge #862, Medinah Temple, West Suburban Shriners Club and the Scottish Rite.
Mr. Fandre is survived by his wife of 61 years, Ruth Fandre (nee Wohlgemuth); his children, Andrew (Janet) Fandre, Harry (Jessica) Fandre III, Laura (Peter) Danielsen and Darlene (Daniel) Nickols; his grandchildren, Michelle (Marc) Doyle, Lisa (Steven) Smith, Jessica (Michael) Keeney, Paul (Sara) Fojo, Scott Danielsen, Tim Danielsen, Harry Fandre IV and Michael Fandre; his great-grandchildren, Skylar Doyle, Emily Smith, Brandon Smith and Chloe Fojo; and his many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Howard (Bell) Fandre.
Visitation is planned for Sunday, July 17 from 3 to 8 p.m. and on Monday, July 18 from 10:30 a.m. until the time of an 11 a.m. service at Hitzeman Funeral Home, 9445 31st St. in Brookfield. Interment is at Chapel Hill Gardens West Cemetery on Oakbrook Terrace.
