If you see an unfamiliar group of about 60 people wandering through Riverside on Saturday morning, be sure to give a friendly wave and “hello.” They’re from out of town.

Actually, the visitors are part of a meet-up group called the Windy City Explorers who, according to their website, “check out neighborhoods, restaurants, parks, historical sites and other notable Chicagoland locations” that folks might not otherwise visit alone.

The group is planning on gathering at the Riverside train station at 11 a.m. on Oct. 15 and will be taking a walking tour through the village both north and south of the tracks.
