The village of Riverside has announced that traffic on First Avenue in the vicinity of Forest Avenue will be restricted to one lane both northbound and southbound beginning Friday, April 7 through Monday, April 10.
Repairs need to be made to underground bypass pumps, which are needed to divert water away from a large intercepting sewer being repaired by the Metropolitan Water Reclamation District of Greater Chicago.
Access to the drop shaft is through a manhole in the northbound lanes of Forest Avenue just north of Forest Avenue.
The lane closures will affect student drop-off and pickup traffic headed to and from Riverside-Brookfield High School, so motorists are being asked patience and to allow time for delays.
