The Riverside Branch of the American Association of University Women (AAUW) presented trophies and certificates to the 10 winners of the organization’s annual Women’s History Month poster contest.

More than 200 posters were submitted and displayed in the Riverside Public Library during March. All fourth-grade students in Riverside School District 96 and St. Mary School were eligible to enter.

The winners received gift certificates from Aunt Diana’s Fudge Shop and all entries were recognized at a reception sponsored by the Riverside Library.

The first-place winners were:

 Ames School: Ella Caputo (Mia Hamm), Aaliyah Reyes (Malala Yousafzai) and Lucy Drenth (Anne Frank).

Blythe Park School: Case Rosenfield (Katherine Johnson)    

Central School: Aiden Pankros (Mae Jemison), Luna McNally (Sacagawea) and Bryce Greczek (Sojourner Truth)

Hollywood School: Eleanor Glennie (Amelia Earhart)

St. Mary School: Piper Hurley (Helen Keller) and Isabella Lerma (Katherine Johnson)

Riverside Branch AAUW has offered this poster contest since 1997.

The Local Philanthropy Committee organizing this event is co-chaired by Robin Benoy and Nancy Dvorak.
