Thomas W. Stauber, 70, of Brookfield, died at Amita LaGrange Hospital on May 19, 2017.
He was employed at the Electro-Motive Division of General Motors, retiring as director of security of the Electro-Motive Division at GM. He also worked as assistant manager of Berland’s House of Tools.
Mr. Stauber was a firefighter/EMT for the Brookfield Fire Department from 1975 through 1988 and was involved with the Boy Scouts of America. He was an avid Chicago Blackhawks fan, enjoyed model railroading and prototype railroading, and all things involving Disney, especially going to Disney World with his family.
He is survived by his wife, Linda M. Stauber (nee Calderwood); his sons, Scot (Catherina) and Thomas (Satah) Stauber; his daughters, Sarah Stauber and Meghan (Kellen) Oblinger; his grandchildren, Aidan and Broady Stauber and Isabel, Olivia and Ryan Stauber and Payton and Kelsey Olbinger; and his sister-in-law, Lois Costernaro. He was preceded in death by his parents, John and Veronica Stauber.
Visitation is at Johnson Funeral Home, 3847 Prairie Ave. in Brookfield on Thursday, May 25 from 5 to 9 p.m. and on Friday, May 26 from 8 to 9:30 a.m. A funeral Mass will be celebrated May 26 at 10 a.m. at St. Barbara Church, 4008 Prairie Ave.
