Heavy rains continued to keep river levels elevated last week. A strong storm on July 21 drove the Des Plaines River up to a crest of 7.9 feet over the weekend, flooding park and forested areas in Riverside. Flood waters also made it to the northernmost residences in Riverside Lawn (above), inundating some properties and blocking some streets. | William Camargo/Staff Photographer
