Evelyn H. Abramovske (nee Nowicki), 97, of Wauconda and formerly of North Riverside, died on Sept. 18, 2017.
Born on June 1, 1920 in Chicago, she was a past president of the North Riverside Golden Agers Club and also belonged to the “L” Club. Ms. Abramovske enjoyed crocheting, reading, time spent with family and friends and playing bingo. Before her retirement, she was a secretary for Sears.
Ms. Abramovske was the wife of the late William H. Abramovske and the late Robert Alvir; the mother of Roberta (Kathleen Evans) Alvir, Jerry Alvir and Marilyn (Joseph) Sajdak; the mother-in-law of Lisa Harris; the grandmother of Wendi Alvir, Rachael Alvir, Patricia (Terrance) Vaisvilas, Barbara (Terry) Morrow and Michael (Rochelle) Sajdak; the great-grandmother of Cole Digirolamo, Ashley (Jason) Salerno and many others; the sister of the late Eleanor (late Anton) Schnolis; and the aunt, great-aunt and great-great-aunt of many.
A funeral Mass was celebrated Sept. 23 at Mater Christi Church in North Riverside, followed by interment at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside.
