The website for Riverside Elementary School District 96 (www.district96.org) has a new look. About six weeks ago the district unveiled the new-look web site, which has a bigger, bolder and less cluttered look.
It’s also easier to use, especially for staff who want to post information and manage content.
“It integrates with our calendaring platform, it integrates with social media, it’s a lot more user-friendly for individuals posting content,” said Don Tufano, the district’s technology director. “Feedback thus far has been really positive.”
The district is now using a content management system from Edlio, a firm that specializes in building websites for schools. The district is paying Edlio $5,400 a year to manage the website plus a one-time set up fee this year of $2,000.
The previous website was built using the WordPress platform and was hosted by GoDaddy.
Tufano said that the old website cost the district about $3,000 a year.
