Victor George Matook, who grew up in Riverside and had lived in Berwyn, died on April 18, 2018 in southern California.
He served in the military and earned recognition for many achievements, such as top car salesman, and was the owner of two taverns, Vic’s Place on 26th and Wesley and on 26th and Ridgeland. He retired after working as a local ordinance inspector for the city of Berwyn.
Mr. Matook was the husband of Patricia (nee Ochsner); the father of Debra (Gary and grandson, Brandon) Waters, Laura Matook (grandson, Daniel and great-grandchild, Emilia), Trish Matook (grandchildren, Johnny and Anna), Victor Matook Jr. (Rachel and grandson, Jordan) and grandchildren by marriage, Megan and Timothy.
He was also the son of the late George and Victoria Matook; the brother of George (Sandy) Matook, Douglas (DeeDee) Matook, and the late Madelon (Ed) Lukas and the late Georgette “Jo Ann” Holly.
He adored all his nieces, nephews and cousins and valued all his many friendships and acquaintances.
Visitation is on Saturday, May 5 from 1 to 4 p.m. at Kuratko-Nosek Funeral Home 2447 Desplaines Ave., North Riverside.
