Lois A. Sheehan (nee Klein), 79, of LaGrange Park and formerly of Riverside, died on June 23, 2018. She was born on July 18, 1938 in Chicago.
Family remember her as a vibrant, beautiful force that lived life to the fullest. She would say her greatest achievement would be the seven children she raised.
Ms. Sheehan was a talented lady who loved to sing and dance. Some may remember her starring in “Mame” many years ago with the Riverside Theater Guild. She cherished being part of the St. Mary’s variety shows with her late husband, Jack, taking on numbers like “Honey Bun” from “South Pacific” and “Sue Me” from “Guys and Dolls,” to name just two.
The past several years Ms. Sheehan was an active, independent resident at Plymouth Place. She volunteered whenever she could, supporting those in need with her hospice work and through the church as a Catholic worship deacon.
She touched so many lives with her warmth, vivaciousness and humor.
Ms. Sheehan was the wife of the late John P. “Jack” Sheehan; the mother of John (Patty), Jim, Nancy LeMoine, Maureen (Evan) Nosek, Doug (June), Tom (Lisa) and Brian (Nancy); the grandmother of Laura, Andrew, Tim, Brent, Josh, Ryan, Madison, Doug, Jack, Mitch, Zach, Alex, Kate, Abby and Matt; the sister of Marie (late Tom) Genovese, the late Don (late Ann) Klein and the late Dorothy (late Vaughn) Hardy; and an aunt to many.
Visitation is on Thursday, June 28 from 3 to 9 p.m. at Kuratko-Nosek Funeral Home, 2447 Desplaines Ave. in North Riverside. A funeral Mass will be celebrated Friday, June 29 at 10:30 a.m. at St. Francis Xavier Church, 124 N. Spring Ave. in LaGrange.
In lieu of flowers, memorials to your favorite charity in honor of Lois would be appreciated by the family.
