Lillian Kolba (nee Simpach), 96, who lived in the village of North Riverside for 91 years, died on July 28, 2018. 

Born on May 10, 1922, Lillian was the senior advocate for the village of North Riverside, a 40-year member of the North Riverside Golden Agers, an active member of the North Riverside Historical Society, former member of the PTA of Ames and Hauser schools in Riverside and a member of the LaGrange Garden Club. She was also known as the “Cookie Lady” of North Riverside. 

Ms. Kolba was the wife of the late Henry George Kolba; the mother of Betty and James (Brenda) Kolba; the grandmother of James Robert (Raina) Kolba, Jr.; the great-grandmother of Savannah and Harrison; the aunt of Kathy and Bobby Uhrich and Debbie Weisbecker and many great-nieces and nephews; and the master of “Boomer,” “Scooter” and the late “Annie.” 

She was preceded in death by her siblings, Mae, Betty, Ann (Gene) Weisbecker, Jim, Frank and Lou. 

Visitation was Tuesday, July 31 from 3 to 8 p.m. and Wednesday, Aug. 1 at 10 a.m., followed by a Chapel Service at 11 a.m., with Kenneth D. Kuratko officiating, at the Conboy-Westchester Funeral Home 10501 W. Cermak Road, Westchester. Interment is at Woodlawn Cemetery.
