Susan Smetana-Butler, 58, of Brookfield, died on July 26, 2018. Born on March 27, 1960, she was a nurse.
She enjoyed watching Bears, Cubs, and Blackhawks games and supporting and watching her children at hockey games, softball tournaments and gymnastics meets.
Many people knew her through her many years of coaching softball, volunteering at St. Paul’s Lutheran Church, and her radiant positive personality. She cherished going on fishing trips with her husband and friends.
Ms. Smetana-Butler accomplished her lifelong educational goal by graduating with her Associate’s Degree in Nursing in 2014.
She was the wife of William Butler; the mother of Billy Butler, Julie (Alan) Lopez and Elizabeth Butler; the daughter of Maureen Smetana (nee Delaney) and the late Edward Smetana; the sister of Steven Smetana, MaryJo (Randy) Yeater, Edward Smetana and the late Michael (Susie) Smetana; the daughter-in-law of Robert Butler.
Ms. Smetana-Butler is also survived by many nieces, nephews and other important family members. She was a devoted and faithful wife, mother, and friend. She was always dedicated to lovingly raising her three children.
Services have been held. Interment was private.
