OUTLOOK: Two-time defending Class 3A champion IC Catholic Prep of Elmhurst has dominated the Metro Suburban Conference Blue Division the last two seasons. And with plenty of good returning talent led by Purdue-bound WR/LB Khali Sanders, the Knights are the clear-cut favorites to win the conference title again. Bishop McNamara (18 returning starters) and Riverside-Brookfield appear to be the main challengers.

DID YOU KNOW: Aurora Christian, Bishop McNamara, and St. Francis all relocated to the Metro Suburban Blue from the Chicago Catholic League. The three newcomers feature well-known head coaches. St. Francis’ Bob McMillen was a star running back in the Arena Football League with the Chicago Rush. Aurora Christian’s Dave Beebe has a famous brother – Don. Don Beebe went to four consecutive Super Bowls as a WR with the Bills in the 90s; he eventually became Aurora Christian’s first football coach and led the Eagles to back-to-back 3A championships in 2011 and 2012. And Bishop McNamara’s Rich Zinanni, entering his 44th season, has amassed 341 wins (good for the 4th-most in state history) and 5 state championships.
