Speaking of people dedicated to a cause, Ruth Freeark’s death last month leaves a large hole in the artistic soul of Riverside.

However, she and her late husband ensured that the local arts community will have its own home — for exhibitions, education of children and adults and a place from which they can advocate for the arts and reach out to the community to join them.

The Riverside Arts Center is Ruth Freeark’s remarkable legacy, and right now the center is about as well positioned as it’s been in its history. We’re sure the center’s board and staff will make every effort to further Freeark’s vision of an arts hub in Riverside.
