Lyons Township High School varsity football coach Kurt Weinberg has stepped down after 10 years with the program to spend more time with his children. He finishes his LTHS football career with a 60-46 record. He made the IHSA playoffs nine out of 10 years, advanced to the Sweet 16 four times and progressed to the state quarterfinals on three occasions.

LTHS Athletic Director John Grundke thanked Weinberg for his service to the Lions football program saying, “Coach Weinberg took the LT football program to places it has never been before. His hard work and dedication to the students of LT affected many, and all of his accomplishments were achieved by doing things the right way. He helped shape the lives of a generation of players by asking them to improve not only as football players, but also as young men on and off the field.”
