Riverside police have announced that they’ll be conducting special traffic enforcement patrols on Super Bowl weekend, Feb. 1-3 to take impaired drivers off the road and enforce state seatbelt laws.

The special patrols are funded through a federal grant administered by the Illinois Department of Transportation.

“We need your help to keep alcohol- and drug-impaired drivers off our roads,” said Police Chief Thomas Weitzel in a press release. “All it takes is a game plan. Before you go to the party, make a plan for a safe ride home.”
