Anthony F. Rizzo, 71, a longtime resident of North Riverside, died on April 14, 2019. Born on June 16, 1947, he was a U.S. Army veteran and a longtime employee of Electromotive Division (EMD) and of Brookfield Zoo. Tony loved playing guitar, fishing, oil painting, and was known for his great sense of humor.
Anthony was the husband of Janet (nee Slak); son of the late Anthony and Dolores (nee Donofrio) Rizzo; brother of Joan Miller and the late Phillip Rizzo; uncle of Bridget (David) Schutt, James Miller, Melissa (Allen) Becker, David Miller and Ashley, Carson, Hannah and the late Robert Jr. Slak; and the great-uncle of numerous great-nieces and great-nephews.
A memorial service will be held later with a date to be announced. The family appreciates donations to the West Suburban Humane Society.
