Brookfield police say that they have arrested one armed robbery suspect, but a second has eluded capture after a more than hour-long manhunt in Brookfield north of 31st Street on Thursday afernoon. The second suspect is not believed to be in the area any longer.

In addition to arresting one suspect, police said they have recovered a vehicle, a weapon and clothing, including a bandanna, believed to be connected to the robbery.

Brookfield police are asking people to stay clear of the area near 31st Street and Park Avenue as officers, including a K-9 unit and helicopter, continue to search for an armed robbery suspect who remains at large following an incident at a business in that vicinity on Thursday at about 3 p.m.

Police say they have one person in custody and have recovered a vehicle they say may have been involved. The suspect at large is described as a tall white male armed with a handgun and was last seen wearing a long-sleeved T-shirt and a bandanna-style mask.

No one was hurt during the robbery, police said. The situation is still unfolding and more details will be available later.

Residents are asked to call 911 if they see anything suspicious.
