Mary J. Purvin

Mary J. Purvin, (nee Petry), 95, of Hinsdale and formerly of Riverside, died peacefully in her sleep on July 28, 2019.

She was an active member of the St. Mary Altar & Rosary Society, enjoyed playing golf at the Riverside Golf Club and was an avid bridge player for many years. She especially looked forward to spending winters at their villa in Florida and treasured spending time with family. 

Ms. Purvin is survived by her husband, Theodore V. Purvin; her children, Judy (John) Scully), Theodore (Debbie) Purvin, Patricia (Bob) Fleck and Thomas (Diane) Purvin; and her sister, Patricia (James) Kramer. She was the grandmother of Melissa (David) Kotrba, Julie (Jack) Tucek, John Scully III (Erica), Robert (Alice) and Michael Fisher, Paul (Sonia), Theodore (Kathy), Steven, Robert (Jessica), and U.S. Army Spc. James Purvin and great-grandmother of 10. She was also the sister of the late Robert, Chuck (Margaret), Paul (Patty), Jack (JoAnn), Dick (Lynn) Petry and Lois (Joe) Schilling). 

Visitation is on Wednesday, July 31 at 10 a.m., followed by an 11 a.m. funeral Mass at St. Mary Church, 120 Herrick Road in Riverside. Entombment is at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside.
