Make valentines for seniors
Indivisible Brookfield invites the community to join them in decorating valentines for Brookfield’s senior citizens at a special event on Saturday, Jan. 25 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at Loca Mocha Café, 8858 Burlington Ave., inside the Prairie Avenue Metra station.
Indivisible will provide the valentines and art supplies. Just drop in and help out for as long as you wish. The valentines will be distributed at the Valentine’s Senior Social and by the Colgrass Café/Meals on Wheels in Brookfield.
Radio Players present two shows
The Riverside Township Radio Players present their first show of the new year on Friday, Jan. 24 at 7:30 p.m. in the auditorium of the Riverside Township Hall, 27 Riverside Road in Riverside.
The troupe will perform “The Girl Who Found Things” from the “CBS Radio Mystery Theater” of “Why is a Marriage Like Taking a Bath?” from “It Pays to be Ignorant.” Admission is free.

Society hosts concert
The Brookfield Jazz Society will host a performance by the Dave Gordon Quintet at its next meeting on Thursday, Jan. 23 from 7 to 9 p.m. in the lower-level Jazz Room of Sawa’s Old Warsaw, 9200 W. Cermak Road in Broadview.
All are welcome to attend. There will be a $10 cover charge taken at the door. Music starts at 7:15 p.m. sharp.
Family Math Night
Math skills are essential for academic success—and it can be fun, too.
Families with kids in kindergarten through high school are invited to hone their skills at an interactive Family Math Night, presented by NR Mathnasium, on Wednesday, Jan. 29 at 6:30 p.m. at the North Riverside Public Library, 2400 Desplaines Ave. Bring your questions.
Goat Yoga returns
North Riverside Parks and Rec hosts another session of Goat Yoga on Sunday, Jan. 26 from 1 to 2:15 p.m. at the Village Commons, 2401 Desplaines Ave.
Goats will munch on hay, romp around and offer participants a connection between nature and self. The class takes place indoors, but bring a yoga mat at socks. For ages 8+. The fee is $40 ($43 for non-residents). Call 708-442-5515.
ν Riverside Brookfield High School, 160 Ridgewood Road in Riverside, will host its next Water Exercise Techniques (WET) class for adults on Wednesday nights from 7:30-8:30 p.m., beginning Jan. 22 through March 11. The session costs $48 for eight classes. The water-based exercise class meant to elevate heart rate and muscular strength, utilizing water as resistance. No swimming involved.
