My family and I recently registered to vote by mail — just in time to see the current occupant of the White House launch his sabotage mission on the U.S. Postal Service.

Fortunately, the Cook County Clerk’s Office is on top of the situation. Here’s their reply when I asked about their plans:

“If you are concerned about the Post Office returning your ballot, there are other options for you this election:

You can hand deliver your ballot to any of our Early Voting Sites, beginning Oct. 19-Nov. 2, 2020. The ballots will be picked up daily from the Early Voting Sites and time stamped. Please check our website on Oct. 1, 2020 for the list of Early Voting Sites in Suburban Cook County.

“There will be sanctioned sites on Nov. 3, 2020 throughout Suburban Cook County where you can drop off your completed ballots.”

Whatever method you choose, be sure to register and vote – the stakes have never been higher.
