I had registered for the candidate forum for the LaGrange Park Board of Trustees election to be held this week and was very disappointed when it was canceled. The League of Women Voters of the LaGrange Area informed me that since three of the four candidates had either not responded initially or had pulled out of the forum recently, they were forced to cancel the event.
I listened with interest to the forums for school board trustees for District 102 and 204 and it helped me understand the issues and the candidate positions so that I could vote more knowledgeably.
It’s disappointing that the candidates for LaGrange Park Village Board are not willing to provide this opportunity for voters to learn more about them.
