Brookfield police on Nov. 21 issued a Silver Search Alert for a 73-year-old Brookfield woman who has been reported missing and is considered endangered.

Joan Strom was last seen at 1:30 a.m. at a gas station in Kankakee County, said Brookfield Police Chief Michel Kuruvilla, who added police were not notified of Strom’s disappearance until more than 12 hours after a police officer ran the license plate number of Strom’s vehicle in Kankakee County.
Strom, who reportedly suffers from dementia, does not have a cellphone and her vehicle, a gray 2005 Toyota Corolla with Illinois license plates FH9744, is not equipped with GPS. It’s not clear exactly when Strom left home. Kuruvilla said Strom was reported missing by her sister, who lives in Michigan and last talked to Strom on the phone on Nov. 19.
Anyone who has information on Strom’s whereabouts is asked to dial 911 or call the Brookfield Police Department’s non-emergency line at 708-485-8131.
