Members of Riverside American Legion Post 488 and the Combined Veterans of Berwyn, including Anthony Ward, Greg Hopper, Alex Gallegos and Jim Connelly, were among those attending a ceremony on Dec. 7 at Navy Pier in Chicago marking the 80th anniversary of the Japanese attack on Pearl Harbor, which led to the U.S. entry into World War II. The remembrance event, organized annually by the Joint Civic Committee of Italian Americans, was held at 7:55 a.m., the time of the attack on the U.S. naval base in Hawaii in 1941.
