Dorothy A. Dropka (nee Pagrozinski), 97, of North Riverside, died on April 16, 2022.
A homemaker, Ms. Dropka was born on July 19, 1924 in Cicero, where she resided as part of a large Polish family until 1955. She loved spending time with family and friends, enjoying many Polish customs and foods.
She was the wife of the late Chester “Bud” Dropka; the mother of the late Carl (Milissa) Dropka; the grandmother of Michael (Christiana) Dropka and the great grandmother (Bomma) of Kamila Dropka
Ms. Dropka’s siblings, Rose (Casimer) Fabianski, Walter (Clara) Page and Irene (John) Lampe all predeceased her. However, due to these unions, she was also a loving great aunt and great-great aunt to many special nieces and nephews. She is also survived by and was especially close to Marilyn (Frank) Janutka, Arlene Page, Paula (Walter) Doszak and Tom (Debra) Lampe.
Visitation is Friday, April 22 from 3 to 8 p.m. and Saturday, April 23 from 9 to 9:30 a.m. at Hitzeman Funeral Home, 9445 31st St., Brookfield. A funeral Mass will be celebrated April 23 at 10 a.m. at Mater Christi Church, 2431 10th Ave., North Riverside. Interment is at Queen of Heaven Cemetery, Hillside.
