Summer Reading kickoff

North Riverside Public Library, 2400 Desplaines Ave. kicks off “Summer Reading 2022: Read Beyond the Beaten Path” on June 11 from 1 to 4 p.m.

Sign up to participate and enjoy free food from Chik-Fil-A, magician Kevin Kelly, snow cones, a bounce house, music, raffles and more. All ages welcome.

Mobile Museum of Tolerance

The Linda Sokol Francis Brookfield Library, 3541 Park Ave., will host the Mobile Museum of Tolerance in its parking lot from June 13-17 daily from noon to 6 p.m.

Developed in collaboration with the Midwest office of the Simon Wiesenthal Center and the Illinois State Board of Education, the MMOT is a free, traveling museum and classroom, seeking to inspire people to stand up against hate and foster positive change in their communities.

Red Cross blood drive

Riverside Township and Riverside Public Library are teaming up to sponsor an American Red Cross blood drive on June 9 in the auditorium of the Riverside Township Hall, 27 Riverside Road from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.

Community Health Fair

Riverside Township will host a Community Health & Wellness Fair on June 11 from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the North Riverside Village Commons, 2401 Desplaines Ave.

Engage with community organizations and learn about health-related programs, resources and providers. Free. All ages welcome. Bring a non-perishable food item to be entered into a raffle drawing.

Linda Sokol Francis Brookfield Library, 3541 Park Ave., presents Live Music on the Plaza featuring award-winning local singer Katie Kostner, who will perform a variety of hit songs, on June 10 from 6 to 7 p.m.

In the Freeark Gallery is “The Old Same Place,” a solo show by Joseph Noderer, while the FlexSpace Gallery hosts “Flock,” a site-specific installation by Catherine Schwalbe.
