William K. Herda, 96, a resident of Brookfield and a former longtime resident of Riverside, died June 2, 2022.
He was born Sept. 20, 1925 in Berwyn and served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. On March 30, 1963, he married Rhoda May Robinson, and during a 57-year marriage, their love and dedication to each other were an inspiration to all that met them.
Mr. Herda was a member of and served in many capacities at the Lyons Evangelical Free Church. He was a retired building engineer for the Hilton Hotel Co. A longtime Riverside resident, William and Rhoda moved to the Woodlands of Cantata, in Brookfield, where they lived the last seven years.
He is survived by eight nieces and nephews and many great nieces and nephews. Mr. Herda was preceded in death by his wife, Rhoda May and his brother Donald Herda. We thank God for William’s love to his family and faith in his Savior. Visitation Wednesday June 8, 2022 from 3 to 8 p.m. and Thursday, June 9, 9:00 a.m. till time of services at 10:00 a.m. at Ivins/Moravecek Funeral Home 80 E. Burlington St. Riverside.
