Ruth Lillian Palmer (nee Holakovsky), 96, of Elburn and formerly of Oak Park and Berwyn, died Sept. 6, 2022.
Ms. Palmer was born April 2, 1926 and worked as a bookkeeper for a personal injury lawyer. When she lived in Berwyn, she was a very active member of the St. Odilo Parish Altar and Rosary Society, as a Girl Scout leader and with the Catholic War Veterans. When she moved to Oak Park, she became involved with the Oak Park Women’s Exchange and Project Linus.
She was the wife of the late Kenneth D. Palmer; the mother of Sue (Christopher) Stoughton and the late Timothy Palmer; the grandmother of Geoffrey (Melissa) Brigham and Melissa (Kevin) Stanner; and great grandmother of Samantha, Geoffrey Jr., Gabriel, Ainsley, Sydney and Zoe.
A funeral Mass was celebrated at Ascension Catholic Church, Oak Park. Interment was at Queen of Heaven Cemetery in Hillside.
